Once adored and imitated by many, today, Donald Trump, is hated and scolded by major media moguls and celebrities alike for his anti-Mexican comments. Former Miss USA co-host Roselyn Sánchez and Christian De La Fuente have publicly condemned Donald Trump for his behavior and have withdrawn their support from the competition. Natalie La Rose will no longer be performing at the Miss USA event, according to Billboard. According to CNN, Univision, NBC and Televisa have backed away from Trump, and on Wednesday, Macy's announced that it was removing Trump merchandising from its stores after 700,000 people signed a MoveOn.org petition. CNN also reports: "Latin artists Juanes, Shakira, Maná and Eugenio Derbez offered support in videos and in comments during their concerts. If all goes according to plan, No Pants participants should all pull into the Hollywood/Highland stop around 2:30pm—spot any in-the-buff commuters before that and they're likely your typical Hollywood lunatics. A bust of the famous Serbian-American scientist Nikola Tesla, made by academic sculptor Bojan Mikulic, will be officially unveiled at the New Yorker Hotel in Manhattan on January 10. The bust of Nikola Tesla is placed in the central lobby of the New Yorker Hotel, which on Saturday will also host the Tesla Commemorative Conference with an aim to include Tesla and his work into the school curriculums across the U.S. The Serbian inventor made most of his inventions in the U.S. and held the U.S. citizenship for nearly 60 years. He was a resident of the New Yorker Hotel from 1933 to his death on Orthodox Christmas, January 7, 1943. The unveiling of the bust, the conference and the gala dinner will be organized by President and Founder of Tesla Science Foundation Nikola Loncar, Consul General of the Republic of Serbia to New York Mirjana Zivkovic, father Djokan Majstorovic of St. Sava Church in New York, and many others committed to promoting the legacy of one of the most important inventors of the 20th century. “The conference will bring together around 30 experts in this field, and we consider it to be the most important thing that Serbian diaspora can and should do ...

We have an exciting event coming up. A small group of Tesla car owners is organizing a road trip for 30 members to drive their Tesla Roadsters and Model S’s to Wardenclyffe, on Saturday, October 25, 2014. In the morning, they will join other volunteers in this second cleanup season. In the afternoon, we will open the grounds around Nikola Tesla’s former Wardenclyffe lab for the public. Our guests, the owners and enthusiasts of Tesla cars, will join TSC to raise awareness of Nikola Tesla the scientist, and to share their enthusiasm for and knowledge of the technology behind the all-electric Tesla car. HOW TO MAKE TURKISH COFFEE You will need to have a Turkish coffee pot, a spoon, sugar and coffee that has been ground to a fine powder. Although most people use the Arabica beans, it really doesn't matter what kind of coffee you use. However, it should be a medium roast, because you will actually roast it again while making it. You can get the Turkish coffee in several different ways: A. Purchase a special Turkish Grinder (regular electric grinders with blades spinning at a high speed will NOT do the job) and grind the coffee yourself. We do have these available at our store if you are interested. B. Grind it at your local grocery store! Yes, that's right. You may not have noticed, but most grinders (99.9%) at your local grocery store in the U.S. have a Turkish coffee setting! Just select the "Turkish Coffee" setting and grind your beans. C. Buy it ready made from Turkish Coffee World. We sell it in our store but you can also find it at most Mediterranean stores if you live in a big city. I gotta say it:  Up until a few years ago, New York City held the number one spot in my heart.  Then came NOLA.  It was love at first bite.  From the incredible food, to the narrow cobblestone streets, to the artistic, caring, amazing people, this city captured my heart in a New York minute. If you’ve never been to New Orleans, you are truly missing out.   Don’t think of it as just an endless carnival, although it can be.  New Orleans is many things.  There’s Jackson Square Park in the French Quarter, where, on any given day you may witness a brass band parade or a wedding presided over by a voodoo priest.  Surrounded by artists, vendors, and most of all music, Jackson Square is the mecca of what down home New Orleans feeling. Next is Bourbon Street, just steps from Jackson Square.  Bourbon Street has survived fires, endless parties, and Hurricane Katrina.  Nothing can keep this stretch of road down.  It keeps rising up for more like a Phoenix.  Filled with jazz clubs, mom and pop restaurants and stores, Bourbon Street is the nightlife spot to go to in the French Quarter. Women are honored as role models for girls served by APCH in its GirlPower Project A Place Called Home (APCH), which for 20 years has provided a safe haven for underserved youth in South Central Los Angeles, honored four outstanding women whose personal and professional lives provide inspiration to the young women and girls served by APCH’s programs, most notably those enrolled in its GirlPower Project. “We’re so fortunate to be able to recognize these four women whose professional and volunteer leadership continues to make a difference for our community’s children,” said Jonathan Zeichner, APCH’s executive director. “We constantly seek to present role models to our young people— outstanding women and men who influence our society for the greater good.
